Tour reacts to family situations of Duval, Hart
The PGA Tour has approved a new regulation that offers medical extensions to players who deal with a family crisis, a decision that will help David Duval and Dudley Hart next year. Duval used a one-time exemption as top 25 on the career money list to keep his card this year, but it looked as though it might go to waste when his wife was put on bed rest in February because of complications with her pregnancy. -- read full article

    A Tough Act to Follow
Until Tiger Woods wins his 19th major, Jack Nicklaus should be considered the greatest player ever. After his latest triumph as the captain of the United States Presidents Cup team, Nicklaus also appears to be one of the game's great leaders. Some are even speculating that he could be the answer to the U.S. Ryder Cup team's woes.

    My Shot: Tiger and Me
For my birthday in July, I planned to play some golf, so I asked my partner, Stephen Weed, to pick me up a box of Nike Ones. When I opened them, out rolled a platinum-colored ball with the Tiger Woods logo on it. As instructed I registered it online, entering a drawing for a free trip to play golf with Tiger. Wow!

Wrong Turn: Davis Love has a major problem
Have we heard the last of Davis Love III? The onetime No. 4 player in the world suffered a serious ankle injury last week that will knock him out for the rest of 2007. His recuperation also means that early 2008 will see Love fighting to extend his Tour-leading streak of consecutive majors played, which stands at 70, and perhaps his competitive career.

    The Melbourne Matter
The only time the U.S. has gone down to defeat in seven Presidents Cups was a 20 1/2-11 1/2 drubbing in 1998, when the event took place Down Under, in Melbourne. That match was held in December, the start of summer in Australia as well as the middle of the off-season for most American pros, who were less than enthused about making the long trip. "The players did not want to go to Melbourne," says Jack Nicklaus, who captained the lifeless U.S. side. Will the Americans be more excited in 2011, when the event returns to Royal Melbourne? Stewart Cink thinks so. "The Presidents Cup has elevated itself," he says. "It's more meaningful now, and the players care more about it. Sure, the dates" -- in late November or early December, according to Tour commissioner Tim Finchem -- "are a possible issue, but we'll figure out how to avoid a problem."

Presidents Cup finish has something for everyone
MONTREAL -- The air was crisp and alive with roars, the ground smelled of damp leaves, and the colors of autumn sparkled in the sunlit trees. This was how the Presidents Cup ended Sunday, in a postcard setting on a scenic island with a finish that wasn't quite idyllic yet had something for everyone.

    A Feel For the Game
What does a PGA Tour event look like to a blind person? To find out, we asked Suleiman to go to Westchester Country Club for the final round of the Barclays, the first event in the FedEx Cup playoffs, and work as a credentialed reporter. Suleiman brought two friends to assist him; one photographed Suleiman and the other took notes during his interviews. While following the golf and speaking with players, Suleiman made a little history: he was the first blind person to cover a Tour event as a reporter. Here's his report.
